FONTAINE CONTACT

You know that intercom in the corner of each room? Turns out you can use it to chat with your dear Mayor at any time! And for whatever reason, nothing of your conversation leaks into any of the other rooms. Come drop in and say hi!

All comments screened for privacy, of course.

INVESTIGATION NOTES (R3)

So! This round, there's a couple things we're doing a little differently in terms of investigation! And we have some new players, so this post is both an explanation of how investigation works in Round 3 and a central place to collect the results of evidence.

Let's go, gumshoes! )

Mayor wants the new security protocols in place before the New Year's Ball. Somethin' about how he's always on edge this time of year - somethin' in the Mayor's past, I don't get paid enough to care. We cooked up some wicked good stuff, too, but I gotta ask myself - just who the hell does he think is going to be able to even GET to New Rapture, let alone attack it? Like what, we gotta be able to do some impenetrable lockdown "just in case?" Who are we keeping out, exactly?

Dunno. Our Big Cheese just seems like a smarter guy than that. I mean he built this whole place himself, right? All the other Founders are only here 'cause of-

Oh! Yeah, sorry boss. Trying out this whole journaling thing, you know how it is.

You know you won't want to miss it.

ENDGAME SCHEDULE (R2)

Hello and welcome to the final week of Unknown Seas, survivors! It's been a long trip, but you're finally near the end and your chance to face off against The Captain for your right to get the hell out of this triangle! But of course, that's easier said than done - if you want out, here's what you're gonna have to do:

1. Comment to this post below

You're being divided up into investigation teams - more on that a little later - and this post is for both sorting you into those teams and checking in! Make sure you read this post before commenting, but it's important to know who you're working with!

2. Participate in endgame logs

This one is pretty simple! The goal of Unknown Seas is to be relaxed about activity, so I'm not going to put a hard number on it, but every character should have some contribution to both investigation and the final trial. Only by working together - and through participation from everyone here - can you reach the ending! Or at least any kind of ending you're going to want.

3. That's it!

Now obviously step 2 is pretty big, but ultimately it really is all we expect out of you guys. Work together to find an IC solution to the problems laid in front of you, same as you have for the past two months - this problem is just a lot bigger, and the solution potentially more complicated.

Q&A.

Hang on, what's happening here?

Well, through machinations of your own and the recently deceased, events are rapidly accelerating to the breaking point we like to call endgame! That means a final confrontation between the characters and the mastermind for all the proverbial marbles.

But how's it going to end?

That's spoilers! But ultimately, the ending of the game you get will be shaped by your characters' actions and decisions here at the end - there might be a Big Choice or two presented for the sake of the narrative, but there's also no Right Answer to those choices.

Can we Golden End?

That's definitely a possibility! But remember that a Golden End isn't guaranteed, so this is no time to get complacent!

How's this going to work?

So on Friday, March 26th, at the standard time for a player investigation, a log will go up for the Final Investigation! After a couple of events ICly, characters will be sent into a few newish areas to take a look around and find a bunch of secrets, divided into three teams! Combined with some of the things they've already found, this should give everyone together enough information to solve all the mysteries presented to them! Except for the vending machine. I promise you still don't have to solve that one.

The next day oocly (but immediately after, icly), characters will be summoned to... well, somewhere one last time for the Final Trial, a direct battle of wits and mystery-solving prowess against The Captain himself! Make enough progress solving why you're here and what's been happening and he'll even finally show his true form.

And how does it end for him?

Only one way to find out! Just remember that rules are still in place until the end of the ritual - just because The Captain is there, doesn't mean physical violence against him is more of an option, you know?

Hang on, I have another question!

Ask it when you check in below!

... But I'm not checking in! I wanna know about R1 participation!

Oh! Well, that's an interesting thought! Well, everything plot-relevant should be wrapped up by the end of day Saturday, and that all exclusively features the R2 characters, but... there'll be a log on Sunday should everyone want to meet up! It will be opt-in and not plot-relevant, just something y'all can do for fun!
